Guiding symptoms + keynotes 

  1. A/F : Exposure to cold, damp weather, suited to people working in damp weather / basement like dairy workers. Checked perspiration, suppressed eruption.
  2. Indicated when days are hot and nights are cold (Bry).
  3. General aggravation from cold and relief by external warmth.
  4. Generalised Urticaria or rash without fever.
  5. Milky urine in grownup child.

Respiratory 

  • A/F : working in cold damp wet weather.
  • Dry coryza, with complete stoppage of nose. 
  • Character of sputum : thick, yellow mucus, bloody crust. 
  • Character of cough : hoarse, spasmodic, rattling, whooping cough with excessive sputa. 
  • Asthma with dyspnoea. 
  • Coughing after physical exertion.
  • Must cough every time to expel phlegm. 
  • Cough worse in damp weather or by exposure to cold. 
  • Relieved by external warmth. 

Skin

  • Delicate skin, sensitive to cold, causes generalised eruptions or Urticaria, every time when pt is exposed to cold.
  • Rash before menses.
  • Urticaria generalised, with itching, scratching leads to burning. < warmth > cold. 
  • Thick, brown-yellow crust on scalp and face with itching, bleeds when it is scratched. 
  • Warts on face or back of hand and fingers (thuja), (palm- nat.mur, ruta).
