Guiding symptoms + keynotes 

  1. Also known as vegetable mercury. 
  2. A/F : abuse of mercury, over lifting or over stretching, summer (diarrhoea) or dentition (diarrhoea). 
  3. Profuse : Bilious vomiting and diarrhoea. With bitter taste in mouth. 
  4. Painless : diarrhoea and stool in cholera. 
  5. Putrid : smell from diarrhoea with undigested and yellow meal particals. 
  6. Polychromatic : stool. 
  7. Prolapse : of uterus due to over lifting. 
  8. Prolapse : of rectum with stool. 
  9. Prostration : due to loss of body water and energy due to diarrhoea.
  10. Pyrexia : with great loquacity during fever.
  11. Paroxysm : of fever at 7 a.m.

Liver

  • Useful in jaundice and chronic hepatitis. 
  • Dull burning pain in liver region with sour regurgitation. 
  • Heartburn and acidic eructations worse from coughing. 
  • Bitter taste in mouth. 

Rectum  

  • Constipation :
  • Constipation of little kids. 
  • Dry, hard, clay colored stool, needs great strain to evacuate. 
  • Constipation associated with piles and prolapse ani. 
  • Constipation alternates with diarrhea 
  • Diarrhoea :
  • A/F : eating acidic fruits, summer, during dentition.
  • Diarrhoea begins early in the morning, continues till noon followed by natural stool in evening.
  • Alteration start with gurgling in abdomen with Colic and diarrhoea sets in. 
  • Characteristics : painless, profuse, putrid, polychromatic stool with prolapse ani. 
  • Cholera infantum.
  • Aggravation : same as A/F. 
  • Concomitant : with liver affection with headache.
